Alpine X is a nice sounding component set. Depending on your amp and HU you could probably buy separate pieces from madisound or parts express and active them.

Yea bro. Still rockin the 9835. Since last year I had my single 18" BTL sitting in my closet, and now I'm getting back into the car audio scene. Trying to find a new front stage and mono amp.

Hertz HSK 165s are the best Ive heard. I had 2 sets before, but sold them because Im dumb. Just bought another set.

If you look around and talk to some people you can get them for $300 new.

I don't know about going Active. Don't have much knowledge in it. Mids are on the door panel and the tweeters are on the A-Pillars. I'm down for fab work but I **** at it! If there was someone to do it for me, I'll pay 'em.
