Component installation placement for PPI's?

The PPI's are convertible components. I want to know how much difference it will make in the SQ if I mount the tweeter on the mid? How much better will the SQ be if I mount the tweeter separate or will it the SQ be bout the same? This will be installed low in the kick. I also need to know does it matter how far the crossover is installed from the tweeter and mid?

I always understood it that the tweet should be close to ear level and aimed towards the center listening aea. I guess this enhances the sound image. You say you have a convertable. I think it would be wise to do this because otherwise wind noise may make it harder to hear them
