component help 101

i just bought a cadence csa 1000.4 amp and 2 sets of cadence cs2.65k components i hooked up a crossover to 1 channel on the amp and hooked the sub to sub part of crossover and tweeter to tweeter part of crossover. well when i was playing music i heard alot of sound coming from the sub, and hardly anything coming from the tweeter. any help? thanks

You either hooked them up wrong, or you have the LP filter on the amp set incorrectly.

Try setting the amp filter mode to "FLAT" and Bass Boost to "0DB"

Don't set it to flat. You want to put it on HPF and set it to around 80hz so that it filters out everything below that. Running that much power to each set, you can pretty easily blow the mids if you set it to play everything. Tune out anything below 80 and get a sub to fill in anything below 80

another question. its a 4 channel amp, i have 2 sets of components ( 4 tweets 4 mids 4 cross). can i hook each crossover up to each channel? thats probably the only way
Yes - that is the correct way to do it. One cross-over per channel. Put each channel in "HPF" filter mode and set the cut-off as instructed above.

Search forum for method of setting your amp gains - or ask when you get there. (or read the manual) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

At any rate start with the amp gains all the way down so you down blow the speakers when you power everything up.

my amp hpf only goes from 120hz-3khz any im still only hearing the song through the subwoofer...im scared right now lol

Look at page 7 of the manual at this link... http://cadencesound.com/content/Momentum_Manual.pdf

Is that your amp? The HPF goes down to 40Hz so eyeball it at around 80Hz.

Are you sure you have the Tweeters connected to the terminals marked "TW" on the crossover and the larger speaker to the terminal marked "WF"?

Can you post a picture of both sides of your amp where the connections are?

(edit) NVM, I see a different pic here - just set HPF to 120Hz and make sure "crossover" switch is slid over to "HPF" setting
