Right now im looking to uprgrade my system and im looking at 2 12" powerbass subs. i am getting rid of two 12" pyramid hyper pros. i was wondering if anyone had experience with the two. I dont know much about the powerbass subs just a good word here and there. are they that much better than the hyper pros?

You are trying to upgrade right, so making a lateral move is not upgrading. The pyramid and powerbass subs are basically the same. If your looking to upgrade, save your money! im talking a good few hundered bucks and get a good set of 12's. RF P3'S, AUDIOBAHN (anything above the alum series), mtx 8500's and up or better.

powerbass is alright, they're entry level stuff is nothing amazing but if you get the right enclosures with them they can wang. Never heard any pyle pyramid blah blah blah but yea powerbass is a pretty solid company.

the power bass subs im looking at are $100 more than what i paid for the pyramids so i would think it would be an upgrade.

Just because you pay more for something doesnt necessarily mean its an upgrade....

somebody offered me 2 12" powerbass subs for $100. i thought it would be upgrading from the hyper pros i have, so i will probably take him up on the offer

Never heard of them, but look at some Kicker Comp Vr's

Well just for your info the 2 powerbase subs he is talking about will out do the kicker comp vrs and will save him about $100 doing it and also save him money on a small amp as well. If you have never heard them dont knock them. Because I ran 2 of these I also ran 2 of the kickers and a ton of other stuff and he is looking to do a setup for $200. for 2 12's and a amp. With shipping included. So if you knew more information about this I would understand were you are coming from but at this point your post is worthless.

The powerbase subs a actualy a pretty good sub at a very good cost. That will keep up with and out do the kicker comp vrs and the alpine type r's depending on the enclosure and amp, wire etc. I know this because I have ran so many diffrent things. I have not had the pleasure of dealing with pyramid and I wouldnt like to neither. I have heard enough about there stuff etc. But to find a setup for 200 shipped for 2 12's and a amp and have it sound good does not leave much options. And over all when you look into the whole picture you will understand that 2 kicker comp vrs' will run him around 200 shipped to alittle more than that. Not to mention a amp to push them because they do need around 400 to get them going very nice while on the other had powerbase subs he is looking at will get loud and sound good on 200 watts. So there for he will be saving alot of money going this route. As he wants to do 2 12's.

When I had 2 12' powerbase subs we did a small meet in this area with guys off of this forum my first time meeting them in person. And they got to hear on first hand the diffrence between the comp vr's and the pb's. Not the extreme pb's the lower line of them. In the same enclosure sealed with the same amp at 300 a piece and the pbs sounded much cleaner and also got louder.

Okay smart guy.....

First of all I NEVER said anything bad about them. I said I never heard of them before.

The only reason I suggested the Comps is because I find them the best buy for the money. ****.

PB PWNZ JOO, but seriously pb for entry level woofers IMO are pretty solid company. i dig my pb csql 15 and it wasnt expensive at all. and gets loud off of just minor amounts of power. i have 2 12's that were installed in my local shops show vehicle and they wanged pretty hard. if you decide to get them i'de say give'em 1.5 cubes a piece. should wang nicely.

My point you find them for YOUR best buy. When the true fact is there is a ton of other stuff out there that is better for a better buy. In this case what he needs because he is on a low budget I mean he was running pyramids. There $30.00 a piece brand new. Kicker comp vrs online new or used are still going to put him around 200 shipped.
