Comparable to slash series?

cotjones you truly are still as dumb from day one coming to this forum as you still are today. Read and read some more, you really make such a *** of yourself everytime you type.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You brought in 3% from some completely unrelated source which had nothing to do with the amp in question. You stated 1% was too high. You can not hear 1% on a sub. The sub itself puts out more than 1% thd. Maybe you are too high because it looks to me like you are so retarded you cant even keep this thread straight //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
I can tell your IQ is quite high after you have brought so many well thought out articulate responses to the discussion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rotflol.gif.b453361716769b8110ddefc85ff03cd2.gif
Wow you are getting really good at ignoring people and argueing with the wall. i never said .1% THD was too high, most amps are right around that level, and it's fine under the right circumstances. However, you can't argue that the JBL and JL amps which have a THD at under half of that won't sound better, less distortion is better= end of story, i don't care how inaudible the distortion is, if for no other reason than improving the life of the speakers by feeding them a cleaner signal. especially when operating my subs at higher frequencies like i plan on, the distortion the amp produces is important. Don't forget that there are other contributing factors to distortion, the end product will be multiplied in distortion from wire losses, the signal i'll be using from my factory HU, etc. Again >.05% is great .1% is good 1% is pushing it 3% you are out of your ****ing gourd. If you don't think so car audio isn't your forte' you should find another forum.

He never said .1% either, he said 1%. If you're really that worried about such a tiny amount of inaudible distortion, shouldn't you be really worried about the head unit, which can give AUDIBLE distortion? He also never said 3%, where'd you get that from? Ooh, and you're gonna run subs at high frequencies? That's also not gonna be too good for SQ, you want midbass speakers for that. That should be obvious I would think if you know about car audio...

I was with you up until that statement. I have no clue where this idea came from that a subwoofer shouldn't play above a certain frequency. Trust me, if you hear a GOOD sub stage, that can easily play up to 100hz, you'll realize what you've been missing this whole time.

That goes into the whole 'at what frequency does sound become directional' argument. Which no one really knows and will almost always differ among individuals.

I have seen people with subs crossed over at 100hz be quite successful in the lanes, but it is more of an exception vs. the rule. I have also seen great systems that played 100hz and up through midbasses mounted in the rear of the car.

The phrase "good sub stage" has nothing to do with frequency response, it should be judged more so on blending correctly with the rest of the system, which is dependent on other drivers and installs vs at what frequency is it crossed over yet.

So yes you are correct that it is possible but usually easier to accomplish through other means if you are competing.

Of course if you are merely going by what sounds good to you, then as long as you are happy, who gives a shit about anybody else? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so did you ever pick out an amp? or are you just gonna b&tch at everyone for trying to explain things to you? do you need an amp that does the same power from 1-4 ohms, NO. you know your ohm load so just get an amp that will produce the power at 2.67ohms. is it really that hard? plenty of amps have been brought up in the thread that will do the job you are looking for.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Phoenix-Gold-Xenon-1200-1_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1234Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem4146db1873QQitemZ280361638003QQptZCarQ5fAudioQ5fVideo

there is a phoenix gold xenon 1200.1, it does 1200 at 1-4ohms.. get it and be happy

p.s. your far from an "sq" system with everything else being stock in your cute little eclipse
