In other words it puts out 50% more than its rated. or... 50% underrated

not underrated 50%.. that is nonsense, you can't half way underrate something without knowing the correct rating.

Correct but since the original rating is 500 watts I calculated from there. rather than 750 because thats not a rating on the amp.

Hmmm well i may not be a genious but i'm pretty sure that criteria defines them as the best. not to mention the other features the slash amps have. (regulated power supply, advanced bass control, and with the v2's better cooling to reduce compression.)

The kicker zx 1500 would be a much better fit for your application

And the level of THD "below the human threshold of human hearing" you are referring to is a variable level. yes there is a noticeable difference in 1% of THD. but hey if i'm worried about winning SQ comps i'd be worried about more than the threshhold of human hearing, i'd be worried about what analyzers hear!

If you really wanted to learn there is more then enough quality information on the importance of install, speakers and processing. Amplifiers are probably the least important factor of an 'sq' system.
