hokay... so... heere's thee deel.

Love the slash amps they are freakin tight. problem is I really need at least 1500watts. The regulation of the JL amps would be nice since its going on a stock alt and pushing a 2.67ohm load, but are there any amps very similar that do more for less money?

Actually for this i'd rather hear only from people who have experience with slash amps.

(edit: I can also do .66ohms but good luck finding an amp to not fry on that.

There are a lot of amps that can compete with jl's amps. Incriminator audio has some nice amps.
don't look like it to me:

900 watts @ 2ohms Compared to a solid 1100-1200 from the JL @ 1.5 - 4 ohms, which includes my 2.67ohm load i'd be lucky to get 700 watts from the IA20.1

.1% THD @ 4 ohms, thats double the THD of The Slash amp at under half the power

no regulated power supply or rail volatge adjustment system. so those specs will go down in a real world application.

200amp draw. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif my alternator would hop out the car slap me with its coils and then burst into flames.

and at a cool 1300 bucks i think its a ftl compared to the 700 i can get the 1000/1v2 for down at a local shop brand new with Jl's warranties.

While there is definitely a lot of fail in this post it is true the Ia 20.1 would not be a good amp for you.

The kicker zx 1500 would be a much better fit for your application

why is there fail? those specs came from incriminators website.

I was actually considering the zx2500 since its 1500 watts more than the JL for about the same price but do they really sound good? i used to hate kicker amps, havent really ****ed with the new ones tho.

Maby i'm misunderstanding your comment, you think i won't get an audible difference from 1000 to 2500 watts?
he stated you won't hear a difference going from 1k to 1.5k

I thought everyone hated JL here.. I am enjoying my slash amps and W7 8".
Not everyone hates JL and not a lot like them either. Cotjones just ride their nuts like no other. Slash amps aren't all that efficient either.

Well i said i was considering the 2500 watt kicker amp 1500 watts is just kinda a minimum power. besides that, i'm fairly sure i'd notice quite a bit of difference in a 50% increase in power. on the JL they'ed each recieve about 350 watts. on 1500 watts they'ed each see 500 watts. and thats what i would consider a minimum, i'd like to send them 600-700 and not stress my amp to do it.

makes so much sence, i'm a JL nut rider, that's totally why i'm hear asking for an alternative to JL. and why i'm not getting very many (save any) good responses.

The high voltage class D Stetsom amps "should" give that JL Audio a run for its money between 2 and 3 ohms. The only thing is you won't save any money because something like the Stetsom 2k5d is EXPENSIVE too!

Now those catch my eye. anybody have experience with them, are they good amps? idk about the 2k5d cause with that 275 amp draw, new electrical is a must.

but the 1k6d looks great, i'd probably get about 1500 out of it with my load, and a 120 amp draw isn't terrible. any online retailers that sell them cheap?

At these power levels, reality says otherwise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What drivers are these, anyway?
