even the genesis absolute? can these be used ib?

Yes...their only down fall is size, the largest of all I own by leaps and bounds...so if you don't want to cut or do major mods then these are not the drivers for you...

how would they be as a dedicated midbass? i read on another forum that they're just ok from 150hz down. i'm looking for a good 6.5-7" midbass to go ib in the doors with focal BE mid and tweet. i talked to my dealer and he said the 6.5" BE midbass is so-so. i don't really want to go big with 8's and i don't want to make pods. any suggestions?

having them as a dedicated midbass is a waste....I'd look into the Dyn Mw170's.... other than scan you won't get much better for midbass duties

How about the Seas Nextel W18...would that compete with the MW170??
