Sounds like your shorting the audio IC in the deck. I would have corrected the issue after the 1st HU BTW.

I would have also, but the first one went up in smoke in my mothers car.. after it failed there i rebuilt it, replaced nothing and it worked again.. I needed a CD player to replace my stock 8-Track so I used it. I figured it failed because it was already failed.

The second I figured failed because it was a Power Acoustik, need i say more?

The third is what told me it was not just bad luck with the second unit.

Okay guys, I'm getting really pissed off now. I just installed the new sony HU, ran new wires to all 4 speakers then proceeded to plug the HU in.. it worked, it worked great.. 1 hour in it shut off and flickered on and off and now that's all it will do.

WTF?! what can cause this? I got all new wires, all new speakers and yet the same problems over and over... its not voltage, I'm at a steady 14.50v+/- .40v even at stereo max (before distortion)

What else is there to do?
