Comment on my setup

for a year i ran a 1000/1 on a 12w6v2. never had any problems. its all in properly setup gains. with a 500/1 on a w7, you will end up clipping the shit out of it and blowing that woofer because the 500/1 is a little weaker than we like to admit. i ran two 500/1s and a 300/2 in my last setup. i blew numerous treo ssi's and tsx's. the tsx can take a c2k 9.0 all day long, and the ss will take 1500 watts all day and night. underpowering doesnt kill, but massive clipping does.

no ive seen the 500/1 on a o-scope. and know it puts out a little over 600. and the 12w7 is rated for 750w so theres no problem there. and as long as you tune it there wont be any clipping.

lol sorry i didnt know that having ZR components and underpowering your subs meant its a SQ setup

me too. and i achieved that with two DD 10"s ported. sounded better than my single 12w6v2 sealed. bass was cleaner, has more range, better balanced sound to it.

its not all about the gear you choose, its about the install. and i can tell you that a 12w6v2 sounds way better with a 1000/1 than it does with a 250/1 or 500/1. i ran them all on a w6v2. started with a simply 250/1 and a 300/2 setup, traded the 250/1 in for a 500/1, then a 1000/1. i kept on stepping up. the bass was cleaner and deeper with a 1000/1. it didnt really struggle much reaching those lower notes that the w6v2 hates.
