shit happens. I was just making the most obvious rebuttal to what you said about the Colts' season. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.giftrue..but look at how the 07 patriots "undefeated" season ended....
The only call that I find moderately questionable is the first down run. I have my doubts as to whether it was a first down or not. The "trapped catch" and PI calls were correct imo.Officiating was bad in the Vikings game. The pass interference call, that 1st down dive that clearly didnt cross the first down marker, etc. Every close call in that overtime drive went the Saints way. You can say the Viks lost due to all the fumbles, or the interception, but you could just as easily say the Saint should have walked away from the Viks, if you want to look at it that way. Like thre ref said at the start of OT, this is like a whole new game, and low and behold, every single close call (or no call) went the Saints way during that 'whole new game'.
And I agree, sudden death is lame. Too much importance left to the coin toss.
yep, this is why we love football //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifshit happens. go watch them, they were horrible calls. I agree with the vikings not playing like they should, but the game was un fair. Farve got annihilated in the first half after a hand off, and no flag was thrown. Then there were 3 or 4 instances in the 4th quarter and overtime. The only call that I find moderately questionable is the first down run. I have my doubts as to whether it was a first down or not. The "trapped catch" and PI calls were correct imo.
EDIT: I'll admit that I haven't went back and watched the plays multiple times since the game ended, though.
I never said it was fair. To be honest, I'm not opposed to them changing the overtime format at all. I just think the college format sucks too...what is fair about the coin toss? Whoever has "luck" is the best team?
If both teams got to run an offensive series, Id agree. But they dont.I'd also like to say that the coin toss for NFL overtime has no more to do with luck than the opening toss.
It's funny that this "debate" didn't come up until now. It'll be interesting to see if they change the rule book because of the "warrior".If both teams got to run an offensive series, Id agree. But they dont.
