Coldness makes subs less effective

bah 15? it was -3 here today lol.. and my subs sounded loud to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lol Yeah but mine isnt a hatchback trunk its a fold down seats trunk so it was frozen i guess

Actually, it should equal out.

Cold air is thinner (IIRC) than hot air. In that case, you should get less sound. However, there's not enough of a difference to notice.

The colt will make the circuits in your amp and VCs in your sub less resistant, so you should get *more* sound from that. Again, it's not enough to notice.

There are days when you think "****, why did I have this that loud?" and days when you wonder why your gains are so low when they don't clip for another 1/4 turn of the knob.

cold air is more dense than hot air, air particles shrink in cold air, and expand in hot air, and the colder air is more dense and "thicker"(the whole principle behind a cold air intake //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

the cold is also going to make your amps run more efficiently and safely, might drop the impedence of your coils a hair, but not enough to really notice. on the flip side of that, in an extreme case the suspension could stiffen up due to the cold.

Well, whatever the case is, the trunk was frozen from the outside causing the waves to chillllll and not feel the pressure to the front as much. Thats the most understandive way. heh

yea, its been cold here in New Jersey for me also...I with you biiqdanz about the subs. I thought it was just me

Yes i spoke to a speciallist from mtx audio. He said the cones get cold or basically frozon therefore the sound quality will be different.
