clean compact sub to match JL 500/1?

I sold my 10w7 since i really dont utilize all that bass. Im looking for a subwoofer that sounds good in a small compact enclosure with clean bass ($200 and under only). i want to keep my trunk and i dont need to rattle my trunklid off. any recommendations to match with this amp? i can even step out of the jl flagship if there are comparable quality subs for cheaper. =)

well you couldn't go wrong with a w6. a sealed 13w6v2 would be amazing but thats out of your budget. I think TC sounds makes woofers for small enclosures but I think they are undergoing a price change or something. I would also check out the classifieds.

i was thinking about a 12w6v2 but im sure there are other woofers out there thats cheaper and comparable. I mostly want a woofer that excels in SQ rather than SPL.

It may not be the cheapest but the w6 is an amazing sq driver. Def the best sounding driver JL offers

A lot of people agree in saying that the W6 is really JL's SQ line, and the W7, while excels in SQ, is more geared towards the street beater...

A 10w6v2 or 12w6v2 might be just what you need.

They are for sale in the classifieds pretty regularly, so it shouldn't be hard to find one for a decent price.
