Clarion Marine Amp - Please Help!

Hello.

I just tried an installation of my new Clarion marine APX480M Marine Amp (640W 4-Channel) and CMSW10.1S subwoofer today.

I am attempting to bridge two channels of the amp to run the sub and use the remaining two channels to power a pair of Clarion CM1622-RET 6.5" speakers. I wired the amp per the diagram in the user's manual with input to channels 1 & 2 coming from the pre-amp outputs in the Clarion XMD3-RET head unit.

I powered up the amp, the light came on and SUPRISE......no sound! I double checked everything including different RCA cables. Still no sound at all.

Next I tried using the speaker level imputs and I get sound from the speakers, but it is no louder than usual. Additionally, the sub does not work at all....even with the speaker level imputs.

I just don't know what else to try. Everything purchased was NIB.

Please help!

Jeff

Thanks for the advice. I know the speakers work off of the head unit speaker outputs. I know the sub works (tested it the same way). That leaves the amp and the preamp outputs from the headunit.

What are the chances of an amp being DOA?

I got it up and running. Apparently there is no voltage coming from the RCA's on the Clarion head unit. I reconnected the speaker inputs and it sounds fantastic.

Thanks for the help.
