Circuit City SUCKS!!!!

I hate when people assume just because a few CC have bad installers that we all ****. I have been installing fo 12 yeras and owned my own shop for five years, when business in my area fell off I took the job installing for the steady paycheck. Quite frankly we are the best install shop in our area, we have alot of customers who come to us with equipment from small local shops and have us do the install.
In the end you have to know where you are taking your equipment for install, whether it is a big chain like CC or Best Buy or a small independent shop. I can't vouch for the CC you went to but company policy is that if we have no way to prove it worked in the first place that we cannot pay to replace it. Going to the manager or shop employee didn't get you anywhere because it isn't a decision that is up to them.

Lol, yeah I agree. I walked in one time and asked them if they had any inline fuses for the fuse holder, and some guy was like "what is that I have no idea what your talking about". Then I asked them if they do any big 3 upgrades and they had no clue what was going on. A friend of mine went there to get an estimate of them just putting a sub box in the trunk with two subs, and wiring them up to 1 ohm, and they were going to charge him 200 bucks for that....oh well, good thing we all know how to do it ourselves...

Actually, I should have had THEM TEST it before the install, that way we would have known who was at fault.
No it's jacked all right, they showed me how it powers on and gets blue lights for all the buttons, but there is no display on the screen. They tried re-setting it, hitting buttons and nothing responds.

It's not completely fried, but something is defintley wrong... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif
Any decent installer should bench test any equipment before installing it in a car regardless of where it was purchased. Sometimes brand new direct from the manufacture items don't work.

I agree that not all CCs ****. I work there, and a lot of times, we end up repairing work that other local shops ****ed up. We are definitely no the worst, but i can't speak for other locations. Sorry guy.

1) your a dummy for buying on Ebay and trying to chump CC out of a sale

2) if you are going to buy from Ebay to save money,DIY or dont bother NOOB

3) CC very well may have screwed up your HU and or your car and you have absolutly no recourse

4)Youll get zero warrenty on the HU and the install when you,a cheap mofo

wouldent buy an HU from the retailer and have them install it

HAHA SUCKA,I think its you who **** not CC in this particular instance

you wasted 3 hours of your time and 3 hours of thier time,

They are as dumb as you are for even bothering to take on this install

The policy should be if you dont buy it from CC they wont install it

both fools

First of all, u didn't ask for a specific type of fuse. i.e. AGU/ANL/w.e, u just told the guy inline fuses. Hell it wouldn't even be inline fuses, u should've just ask for fuses. 2nd the big 3 upgrade can mean any f*cken thing in the world. Not everyone is gonna know a certain term just cause u hear it all the time on a web forum. For the last one, it doesn't surprise me they want $200, they were giving u an estimate of the price. Don't forget labor is a huge cost. If u knew how to do it urself then why did u have to be a complete ******* and go in the store in the first place?

You really have to use common sense on this one. If anyone who had a broken Head unit/amp/sub woofer/speakers/ or whatever decided they wanted a brand new one. Then according to you. All they'd have to do was bring it in, have CC/BB install it, blame the unit being broken on them and demand a free product with no proof what so ever that it had worked in the first place.

I agree with #1 and I agree with #3

lmao... sorry dude, I'm in a bad mood as you can tell. It's gonna be weeks before I get a new one, unless CC steps up to the plate.

Now, JVC will not warranty because I purchased from a non-dealer? lovely

You bring in YOUR hu to an installer, and it doesnt work

its YOUR problem.....

Example: You bring 4 new tires to goodyear and have them install them

and the next day they are all flat, its YOUR problem not the installers..

Even if he messed up the tires its YOUR problem .....

I own a business if a customer wants to supply material

they get no warrenty from me,usually I dont even bother with

tightwads like them

so now a

lesson learned in the wallet

I feel bad for u, but it's a lesson well learned. That's one of the main reasons why some people would pay retail prices at stores that are authorized to sell their products. CC will not step up to the plate, because there's no game to be played.

which goes back to a previous post... why didn't they bench test it before they attempted the install. That's on CC.. not me..
