Circuit City SUCKS!!!!

Well I figured I would take it to the "professionals" for the install, as I don't have a clue which wires coming out of the harness are which. I have also blew a JL amp, not knowing what I was doing.

I seriously did not know the Circuit City is probably the WORST place for a car audio install...?? I actually got my amps from Car Toys and they installed them along with my components. They did a great job, why I didn't go to them I have no clue....

I sure hope I'm not out $500 on this deal, I mean un-freaking-believable!!!

circuit city has a point

its the azzhole who sold you the deck that fuked you

how are you supposed to know if the deck is fuked up or not internally if you DONT INSTALL IT

well if i was you i would have my lawyer(assuming you got one) give the manager a call, or take his/her time to go to CC with you and have a lil conference.

another thing, once big franchises like CC seriously believe you might take it up to the legal process, they will budge, because they would rather pay for you to get a **** HU fixed than have their lawyers get paid for the case against them. try it.

unless they believe the case would get thrown out at the beginning complaint stage due to lack of evidence. then sucks for you lol

lmao, you want me to bring my lawyer?, pay him what $500 to talk to CC mgr?

I really don't blame the place I purchased it from, all else fails, I'll probably contact JVC and see what they can do... maybe it really is defective, which I highly doubt, or they can fix/repair it for cheap.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

Checked out the manual on Crutchfield's site. It has pretty solid installation instructions including the wiring diagrams for the harness.

Here's a link to an install walkthrough for the Honda.

http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Honda/PDF/466053.pdf

Easiest way to blow up a component is by connecting wiring without disconnecting the battery first. Always disconnect the battery and double check your connections and you'll be fine. If you run into trouble, get online and ask around.

i went up to ATL and looked at my cousins install that CC by the Northpoint mall and when she popped the hood on her 4-runner i almost sh!t......the power wire had been run into the fuse box ,not directly to the battery, then the agu fuse holder was just suspended in mid-air, not even mounted to the vehicle. AND to top it off i followed the run of wire where it went through the firewall, and they didnt even use a grommet....can you say FIRE waiting to happen? after a long discussion with the road shop manager, he realized i knew what i was talking about and not only, re-did the install his self, he refunded the cost of the labor for the amp installation and gave her a 20 dollar gift card....BUT THEY DO ****...and take big time shortcuts!

It's pretty simple to test a headunit when you get it in. tap it into a 12v battery and turn the power on. Have you given it another shot to make sure it's good, rather than taking the installer;s (who apparently had no idea wtf he was doing) word?

uh well if your lawyer knew you or really cared bout your problem then he would do it for free if your actually in touch with him or her.

Actually, I should have had THEM TEST it before the install, that way we would have known who was at fault.

No it's jacked all right, they showed me how it powers on and gets blue lights for all the buttons, but there is no display on the screen. They tried re-setting it, hitting buttons and nothing responds.

It's not completely fried, but something is defintley wrong... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif

Id just send it to JVC or see about a warranty since its brand new......unless you sat back there and verified that they did something wrong its just your word against theres

Why didnt u bring it to a car audio shop....i cant believe CC even installs stuff like that...i never knew.

Im trying to get on in sales over there....anyone know if they build boxes and have a wood shop or what not....id love to have access to that hehe

I hate when people assume just because a few CC have bad installers that we all ****. I have been installing fo 12 yeras and owned my own shop for five years, when business in my area fell off I took the job installing for the steady paycheck. Quite frankly we are the best install shop in our area, we have alot of customers who come to us with equipment from small local shops and have us do the install.

In the end you have to know where you are taking your equipment for install, whether it is a big chain like CC or Best Buy or a small independent shop. I can't vouch for the CC you went to but company policy is that if we have no way to prove it worked in the first place that we cannot pay to replace it. Going to the manager or shop employee didn't get you anywhere because it isn't a decision that is up to them.
