Goths were a germanic tribe "barbarians" if you will that were wanderers. They became part of rome at some point and Im betting many of them converted to christianity. So it may not be an oxymoron at all. If any true goths were around now they surely would be christian.

Unless of course you are talking about the weird stinky kids in highschool that smelled like piss, had 4 qts of oil in there hair and dressed in all black. Then ya it is probably an oxymoron

You just sound like an old metalhead not goth or at least not what I remember them being I wore a lot of black had plenty of piercings but I wasnt scared of the sun and never put shoe polish in my hair.

I like how people become something and then so many people do it they change to do something else. Why not wear a big glowing sign that says "I NEED ATTENTION AND I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET IT". lol

Punk, then goth, now emo, going back to punk. LOL Someone get an identity of their own. I like going to the S&M clubs wearing a pair of running pants and a normal shirt from like old navy and watching them try to impress each other.

I never got the point of the whole goth thing... or the emo thing... or the skateboarder thing...

its all extremely high school-ish. Almost as though you walk through the school doors and you've got choices of which identity you want to adopt and which group you want to be a part of... you got the preps, and the gangstas, and the skateboarders, and the goth kids, and the emo kids, and the death-metal kids, etc, etc...

and yes there are some good bands out there that still sound like the good ol' punk bands (god i ****ign love bad religion too). but there are ALOT more that **** compared to how many good ones came out in the last 3, 5, and 10 years
