Building a new system in my man's ride. I got a good deal on a pair of Kicker Solobaric S12L7s (peak power 1500 watts, dual 4 Ohms, RMS power handling 750 watts)

Thinking of putting a Kicker SX900.2 amp (900 x 1 bridged RMS output @ 4 Ohms)

He doesnt want a big booming system just a good solid sounding system.

Will this amp be a good choice??

if he doesnt want a "big booming" system... why in the world did he choose a pair of l7's?
I'd get a amp that's a tad bit more powerful if your going to run two of them.
Maybe, because if done right, they are not boomy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

This is usually used as a refrence when talking about speaker sizes and how larger ones usually cannot produce the same accurate bass as smaller ones. I suggest taking a read.

ALTHOUGH, larger woofers are more capable of producing lower frequencies more accurately, but that has nothing to do with response, just simple physics.
