is my amp strong enough?

i am thinking of getting a JL Audio 12w7, but since those are 3 ohm subs, i am not sure if my amp will cut it. i have a kenwood excelon KAC-x810D. i am pretty sure it is more than enough power, but since the sub is at 3 ohms, can i use it? and if not, can you guys recommend a good amp to run that sub? preferably not a crazy expensive one.

i think its 800 watts at 2 ohms... what kind of power should i look for? not a lot of amps are rated at 3 ohms. and the site says 750 watts, but not at what ohms. i am guessing its 3 ohms, 750 watts. but recommended from the mfg isn't always the best.

Try telling that to the type r crew. They'll beg to differ with ya //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.
For daily bumping 99.2% of the time you use the recomended specs or less to be safe.

Why do people keep refering to competitions???

Ummm yes it is...
i would disagree with that...

manufacturer suggestions are usually what is most common, or what is prefered by the masses. not neccesarily the best. hard to define what is best, when everyone aims for a different goal.

i think a better way to say it is that "manufacturers recomendations are what a majority of the people desire" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
