Choosing the right 2way 6.5"

Even if you dont crank them to the point right under distortion there is still an audible difference in the clarity even in the lower volumes.
There are some headunits that are limitied via hardware that will not send a clipped signal. My 9887 for instance is limited on the hardware side that prevents it from sending a clipped signal through RCA's. I will never have to worry about a clipped signal from my 9887 to the amp.
through rcas, but if u run stock speakers, or put aftermarket speakers in without an amp, ur not using rcas are you?

well sorry my ears arent as good as everyone else's and i didnt hear a difference.

yet i play fps games and hear footsteps all day and get called the hacks oh well

Only reason I didnt say speaker outs on the back of the HU is because those havent been OScoped at full volume so I dont have any concrete evidence. Im almost positive those are also limited as well though.

FPS games in a home setting have nothing to do with an automobile or its acoustic properties.

I never said stock speakers sound great, or that they cant be pushed to the point of distortion aka sounding bad
yes if u install aftermarket speakers, run them off hu power, u can crank the volume higher with less distortion.
If you are running your speakers at say 1/4 - 1/2 head unit power, you probably won't notice a huge difference in sound.

There will be a minute difference however. Most OEM and cheap aftermarket head units start to distort past half-way and some even distort below half-way. Either distortion from the amplifier or distortion from the speakers themselves.

I have noticed a huge difference changing speakers, depending on the install. Most of the installs I've done were to replace blown speakers (or ones that were worn/distorting), upgrade factory OEM equipment or something custom altogether.

My wife has better hearing than I do, but she definitely can't tell when she's turning up the stereo to the point of distorting the speakers! I find myself saying "what??" all the time, but I still hear the speakers distorting and vocals/mids getting squashed when the mid-bass hits. Only when I point this out, does she actually 'hear' what I'm explaining. Its something you have to listen for and most people won't notice until they hear a good install. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If you ever hear a song where parts of the sound gets chopped out or muffled when the bass hits, that's distortion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Here I'm listing the prices of them:
114€ - $158 - Coral DLK165

99€ - $138 - DLS B6

169€ - $235 - JL Audio C2-650

124€ - $172 - Focal 165A1

99€ - $138 - Rainbow CSX265

168€ - $233 - Diamond Audio D161.5

Some can be found a bit cheaper, but it gives a rough idea.

Budget isn't really determinant, I would put the limit at $300 to say something.

Thank you!
Wherer did you find the Rainbow CSX265 for $138?
