[QUOTE="VWBobby, post: 7248957, member: 624844"] If you are running your speakers at say 1/4 - 1/2 head unit power, you probably won't notice a huge difference in sound. There will be a minute difference however. Most OEM and cheap aftermarket head units start to distort past half-way and some even distort below half-way. Either distortion from the amplifier or distortion from the speakers themselves. I have noticed a huge difference changing speakers, depending on the install. Most of the installs I've done were to replace blown speakers (or ones that were worn/distorting), upgrade factory OEM equipment or something custom altogether. My wife has better hearing than I do, but she definitely can't tell when she's turning up the stereo to the point of distorting the speakers! I find myself saying "what??" all the time, but I still hear the speakers distorting and vocals/mids getting squashed when the mid-bass hits. Only when I point this out, does she actually 'hear' what I'm explaining. Its something you have to listen for and most people won't notice until they hear a good install.
