Hello guys.

I'm trying to install few audio components in my car, consisting of:

- two amps each with 4x100W RMS / 4 Ohms (800 RMS in total) with 2x30A fuses ;

- one amp 1x500 RMS / 4 Ohms with 1x80A fuse for the sub.

The total RMS would be around 1300 W on 4 Ohms.

What I want is to do the wiring correct.

I want to run just one wiring cable from the battery to the trunk and use the ANL distribution block

there to power the amps.

I would rely on your expert opinion on:

1. the thickness of the long power wire - 2,1 or 0 AWG for 1300 W of RMS power? What would be the minimum diameter allowed?

2. what fuse size should I choose for the main fuse located close to the battery? 200A or more?

3. What sizes should be the fuses in the ANL distribution block located close to the amps in the trunk? 2x60A and 1x80A (if any)?

4. Common ground through the distribution block or separate grounds cables for each amp?

Thanks a lot for the help.

4g is fine but just do 1/0 and future proof.Fuse to wire size not amperage draw.

All grounds should meet instead of being independant.
Thanks Chris.

I'm putting everything in my Legacy 2010.

Could you elaborate on fuse to wire size thing a bit - If I go with 2 AWG wire what fuse should I use in my case?

Thanks.

You won't be at the limit of the 2awg so i would just add up your amps combined fusing and go +-10% of that. No need to overfuse with the power you're at

A 150a fuse would be just fine, i mean even a 100a fuse would probably work but id do 150a. Your mids/highs amps won't be drawing anywhere near the fuse rating

Fuse close to the battery up front, and then put the fused distro in the back somewhere convenient and safe where it won't get damaged. Run the wires from the fused distro with fuses matching the amps

yeah i still just have 4 ga and a 80amp fuse with 1k amp.. just don't go any bigger on fuse than u have to u want fuse to melt before the wire so yeah 120 or 150a..

Your image doesn't really show anything. That could be 3 different head units for all we know, but I think it's 2 different add-ons. It sounds...

You can Email or Call GP Audio and they can make some adjustments to make the enclosure shorter and either deeper or longer on the Glue and screw...

Not at all, amplifiers have gain control to attenuate the output to safe levels.

I've moved this post to installations. Can't work out how to delete it here.
