I have a JVC KD-R530 headunit and Pioneer TS-A4674R speakers installed in my dash on my Chevy s10 2000 truck. I'm wanting to replace the door speakers.

I was wondering if the Pioneer TS-A1685R 6-1/2" / 6-3/4" were any good because I can get them for $53 on Amazon. They will be powered by my HU. Will these speakers work well with my dash speakers and the sound volume be level or will one of the pairs drown out the other?

To deaden the doors I don't have a lot of money to get sound dampeners like dynamat, but will weather stripping on the front and back of the speaker mounts and filling the door with pollyfill be okay?

The pioneer top of the line ts-d's are only about $10-$20 more on Amazon than the Pioneer A series speakers you mentioned. The D series use better materials and are a better overall speaker so i recommend spending the small difference on the ts-d's. (i own a pair)

So the Pioneer TS-D1702R which is 2-way will be better than the Pioneer TS-A4674R which is 4-way? The TS-D is only $10 more.

Just because the TS-A4674R is 4 way doesnt mean its better, and yes the Pioneer TS-D1702R is A LOT better but then again if you arent amping them then its all the same crap. I just wanted to let you know incase you decided to get a small amp or something in the future then the TS-D's are a big step up... I mean its $10 extra, you cant go wrong.

I don't want to go all out on the deadening because I want to get a new vehicle in a few years.

Where should I look for some nice, small amps for these speakers? There isn't much room in my truck since it's a regular cab and already has a sub with an amp behind the seats.

Speaking of deadening... AudioTechnix deadener is a lot cheaper than MurderMat. It's not quite as thick, but it still gets the job done well.

For a small amp, maybe check out the PPI iON amps?

I have the Alpine Ktp-445u and i actually have it sitting behind the radio, didnt have to mount it anywhere and didnt have to run any wires because it connects right to the HU and it only cost me $100. Its probably my favorite part of my setup because it gave me a good amount of power so easily and at a great price.

All that extra deadner is useless for me so even though i paid $50 for a Dynamat Xtreme door kit to do my front doors i got them completely done and im glad i dont have any extra laying around that i have to find a place to put.
