So as I live in South Africa, there are limited choices to what subwoofers we can get here,
However I have narrowed it down to a choice between the Pioneer TS-A300D4, or JBL Stage 1210. any other suggestions would be great.
I am also planning on going with an audiobank AB 9000W class D amp, because its all I could find online in my price range.

So my question is, between the JBL and the Pioneer, what is the better choice?
And, are there any other significantly better value subwoofers I should look into?

I'd personally go with the JBL over the pioneer if I had to make the choice. From experience, I like the sound of JBL speakers and subs over pioneer.

Not at all, amplifiers have gain control to attenuate the output to safe levels.
