choosing 8" budget subwoofer for 2 channels of JL audio 300/4

please help me out to pick subwoofer for my 1 amp system

amp will be a JL audio 300/4

2channel will be used for seperates

2channels for subwoofer.

my choices are:

RE audio REX or RFX (what is the difference between them?) around 50$

Lanzar max 8 around 30$

open to suggestion of other brands...

i have a pair of used 8's that are slightly above your price range. they are rated at 300W RMS and are pretty efficent subs. i think they will fit your application quite well. if you are interested PM me and we can talk.

yes.. budget is only around 50$.

i prefer to get new ones since subwoofers get pounded alot and dont last long..

With that little power and price the Rex will be best just be sure it will be the right impedance for your amp bridged. Unless you can find a sundown E8 v2 that's a dual 2

I'd shop high quality used here for budget. I don't like buying inexpensive parts. They break easy and will not last as long.

Amp power, (150watts bridged?), seems a bit weak for subwoofer duty. I'd trade the amplifier first for something else or add a mono amp. Is this significantly more expensive? Yes? But why limit your audio upgrades budget to the cost of one gas tank fill-up. I never understood that. If the money situation is so bad, borrow a bicycle and bike around for a week to save the said gas, then buy something more solid for a start.

Your right. Your subs wont last long at all if you buy low level junk. Spend a little more for a quality sub.

They're supposed to be pretty rugged subs for the price. I know a guy who's installed them that confirms they handle over RMS well and sound very nice for a $60 sub
