RIP CA.com.
In a similar boat. Known I was diabetic for years but haven't taken it terribly serious. Got an infection from a sore on my ankle last week that freaked me out. My leg ended up swelling up from the shin down and the infection was spreading up my leg. I spent 4 days in the hospital being pumped full of antibiotics. Finally on the mend and taking it more serious. Watching what I eat and cutting a lot of carbs out of the diet. Been pretty amazed with the results so far. I'm finding a lot of low carb recipe's that are pretty tasty. It does **** that all the best tasting foods are full of carbs and sugar.
I've been type 1 diabetic for 17 years. Never been "overweight" but went low carb a couple years ago and dropped my insulin intake down a ton. Which is great being $300 a bottle... Eat a ton of grilled chicken, eggs, tuna, and my favorite Zaxbys grilled chicken salads(35 carbs with fired onions). I do miss pizza and ice cream but still get them for time to time.
