Obviously I would vote for chicago simply from my personal experiences, but that doesn't say much since I've never been to detroit. I think both cities have their good parts and bad parts, but it seems that detroit is the "more dirty" city. Perhaps thats just how the media portrays it.

Nashville > both those cities.

That is the southwest and I don not like that either. I have limited myself to the northern Midwest. Ohio is to far south for me.

Detroit is barely even a city anymore. People are leaving at the same rate as boat people from Haiti. The only industry they have is almost dead. Crime is the only thing thats thriving. This is like Funky Pup vs FI

The population decline has stabled recently. The people are just moving from the city to the suburbs. Urban sprawl is huge in Detroit.
