Chevy Silverado Sub Setup

Hey guys,

Just got a new Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 1500 and am looking to add some bass to the sound system. I went over to the local audio shop and he suggested an up fire under the seat box with 2 Jl 12W1v2-4 and a Kenwood KAC-8105D amp to power them.

How does this set up sound to all of you? I'm new to car audio and am trying to get my moneys worth but don't want to sacrifice quality and reliability. The guy quoted me at $550 out the door installed.

The current setup has absolutely no bass whatsoever. So I'm trying to even out my system when I'm cruising or working. But i also want subs that'll make my truck shake for when I'm out at night with friends

2 dc level 2 -12s and a massive n2 1600 watt max 800-1000 watts rms amp this will run 500 by its self but much better set up .the amp he's trying to sell you is only 500 watts rms at 2 ohms and not a very good one at that ,and the woofers are the cheapest that jl makes ,why not spend a little more like 100-200 if even that and get quality.and by the way the set up he's trying to sell you isn't going to bump your truck like you want,not enough power

Crew cab. And two 12" subs and an amp that'll match nicely that won't make me broke.

Ok so which subs would you recommend that are in a decent price range? Don't forget that i am working with limited space as they must go under the back seat. And $500 is the cheapest i can get a decent amp that'll provide enough power?

While I haven't spent even $500 on my whole system, I also bought most of it used. But you might be better of just waiting a little bit longer and growing your budget.
