Chevy Cavaliers?

i have a 99 w/ 41k miles on it...

haven't had really any major problems...doesn't burn oil, runs fine, gets good gas mileage. Not the fastest thing in the world...but i've cruised on the freeway at about 85-90, and i could still get more out of it for sure. I know that's not very fast...but i mean, your asking about a cav...

alt went out on me..but thats about it. has some good trunk space...but height can be a issue.

I hate to start a bickering feud, but i would need to see time slips to believe you got into the 12's with a fwd cavy. Nos is a cool charge, and would have NO effect on your heads warping. If anything it would push your head gasket out, or eat up some piston rings. It could be many things from not retarding your timing, pounding your bearing out of wack, allowing the piston to slap the head / valve. Who knows with those dime a dozen 4 bangers.

My roommate had a 98ish cavy. It was a beater, neglected, and driven hard but it never broke down or had any major work done. Starter / alt is all i believe.
Believe what you want, but I don't have pics of my car doing it, as it was some years ago. I have time slips, but they are stored somewhere.........and honestly can care less if you or anyone else believes me. Me and my friends knew what it ran, so that is that.

Also it wasn't like I didn't have a bunch of other work done to it. Wasn't like I just put NOS in it and ran it and got those numbers.

It could have been many things that caused it and was running hot, so I kept pushing it like a dumbass. Could have just been my stupidity. All I know is I had to get a new engine, which by the way I got a steal on.

And I am no huge engine guru, just was told that, but believe you me, I am sure it could have been other things.

I had a 91 with more rust than paint. However, it ran like a top. Heat worked well and rode as well as a decade old chassis could. Survived a couple bouts of 100+, a neutral bomb, powerslides, winter donuts.

Had to replace a few lines from rust damage. Not really the result of the car, I think it may have been a flood car at some point, as I bought it off my cousin and they got it from a dealer.

I got it in '04, sold it late '06. In that time I put air in tires, replaced about 3 feet of fuel line, and brake lines. It's still around somewhere last time I saw.

My brother's old 88 Z24 is still around town somewhere as well.

Overall, good A-B cars. Not sure about the seats in newer ones, but I thought mine were pretty comfortable for what they were.

My complaint about the newer cavaliers, other than being underpowered and chick cars, Is the size. The only way I can FIT in the thing is by reclining the seat all the way back lambo style. Otherwise I have to either duck or lean to one side just to drive the thing.
