Is there any way to check how many amps my alternator is rated for, when the alternator is still in the car?

Ive tried searching what it is rated but haven't found anything. I would like to get a upgraded alternator but its in a pretty tight spot, so I'm hoping the stock one is good enough for now.

Yeah i goooooogled it and never seem to find anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I have a 400w rms jl amp, and a jbl gto amp thats about 1000w rms.

The only wiring upgrade I've done for the big 3 its the battery to ground, didn't help much. The other parts of the big 3 are a lil harder to get to so I haven't gotten around to doing them yet.

I hope you dont have CVT...I feel for ya if you do bud. I had an Octane blue '09 GTS with CVT....nice car with factory RF bump...nothing else I can say positive about it.
Yup. CVT. I love it for a daily driver, lowered, handles nice, not super fast, but I have a 85 rx7 (standard) for when I feel the need for speed, lol.

My transmission went out within the 6 months I owned the car. I never raced it or anything like that. Took it to dealership and they let it sit there for OVER a month. They said that they had to send a sample of the transmission fluid to the corporate office so they could test it. If regular fluid went thru it, the transmission isnt even rebuildable. Mind you, I bought the car with 33k on the clock. At 39k it was going out. I noticed it when I drove for over an hour straight. At about 80 constant miles, the ****** overheated.

*IF* yours does this...get rid of it. MOST places cant even rebuild it because "they never had to". I wish I had a 5 speed.

Im at 90k and have never had a problem, and I drive it pretty hard. (knock on wood)

Have to make sure you have the best ****** fluid in it, I use the ennos fluid. Its expensive but worth it. And if you are driving hard its best to have it in the 6 speed tiptronic mode, it will help keep the ****** cooler.

Did the dealership cover it? Or you just decided to sell the car?
