The theory behind it is flawed. It's execution can only negatively alter the source sound. No added coloration is desireable. Ever. The goal is always transparency. Anything else is fail. This is a case of "don't knock it before you try it"
bruh
Says you.The theory behind it is flawed. It's execution can only negatively alter the source sound. No added coloration is desireable. Ever. The goal is always transparency. Anything else is fail.
???Says you.
But he's not making his system to satisfy you.
By the way, if reverb and delay are so bad why do so many sound engineers insist on using it when they master their recordings?
Is that the ying and yang of backpeddling>?FYI - i'm not going to read two pages of banter. I have no idea what anyone has said since yesterday, i'm purposely not reading it. I just don't care if you think you're right. You won't prove anything. All of this is subjective opinion so none of it really matters.
We are all correct. We are all wrong. All at the same time.
AMAZING, eh?
Then... I put the bong down and moved the speakers down the hall and it added this totally cool reverb sound. It was awesom..., but I couldn't understand the lyrics anymore. but that was okay because I was talking with this cool chick with great legs and we like...The artist wanted his song to sound cold, but I added tubes because I wanted to warm it up. toasty. crisped up.
???
I'll explain this slowly... YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO ADD COLORATION TO THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!
You should read my statement again. "to the finished product". We add all kinds of **** when making the product. You're not supposed to color it after it's finished. You don't buy the mona lisa hang in on your wall then paint her lips red and **** exposed because you like that in your women. That's altering the finished product. SQ is about apreciating the original finished product as it was inteded to be heard.Even major orchestral works have added reverb on the final recordings now.
And just what is the correct sound from a multi tracked studio recording with parts done days apart?
Are you saying you never use bass or treble controls, or no EQ at all?
Is it bad if someone else finds the original recording to sound too bright, so they lower the treble?
^ thanks guys! and no I'm not holier but definitely have a better grasp on car audio than this guy. And I'm not just referring to the delay because there is other ways to successfully get rear fill but imho this is the best way. It is a car not a house, studio or a hall. You can't even compare them and if you try to think the same way you're going backwards from the beginning. Again, last time! they don't make processors with 30ms of time delay for school buses and hi end speaker manufactures don't recomend it to hurt the sound of their product. Don't take my word for it, research it.
