I have had great performance out of Damplifier Pro & Overkill.

Actually, now that the product is not made of asphalt, has a foil heat shield 3 times as thick, and has an increased heat rating of 500 degrees, the prices have gone up.The product we used to sell at $1 psf was the same thing that fat mat and bquiet sell now. We stopped selling it about 4 years ago..

Popularity has nothing to do with the cost.

Somehow I doubt that popularity doesnt at least play a small role in the price increase. If it truly doesnt then congratulations you are the first company to gain popularity and not increase prices along with it.

well i dont know much about raamat but they didnt go from non-existent to being pretty much the leader in sound deadening in like a 2-3 year span.

which brand are you referring to heh?

either way, from personal experience i would stay away from edead (used in my explorer) and definately invest in raamat or second skin

raamat BXT is cheaper than second skin, but still more expensive than the real cheap stuff, but the difference between three layers of edead and one layer of raamat +ensolite (raamaudio product) was tremendous

There's a huge difference in material costs between asphalt and butyl. Sure, eDead v1² sells for a dollar a ft², but it is paper thin, uses an inexpensive plastic facing and has had its share of problems. This is a very competitive market. If any seller arbitrarily raised prices because they had become popular they wouldn't be popular for long.

If only that were true..

We have a bigger profit margine when selling asphalt mats than butyl..

We adjust our price according to the raw material cost. Always have.
