Changing whole system, advice needed

I am selling my FI BTL local and maybe the Rockford fosgate t20001bd as well.

I'm looking for a new setup. I'm looking at two choices:

1. A new system that's louder mostly spl

2. a new system that's mixture of spl and sq, but still louder than my current.

I'm going with two 12s, and will have a custom box built. I still haven't decided if seal or ported, dimensions will have to be around 33wx15x16d.

What are two 12s that would best suit me? I may sell my fosgate amp as well, but not sure right now.

are you looking at getting more wattage? what kind of space do you have? money could become an issue also. need more details
not necessary more wattage, money isnt a big big deal. ill find enough to buy.

it's going into my honda accord. i like how the subs sound in suvs and trucks, but then again the subs are next to the driver. my system is in the trunk and i like something that'll be louder

you have one of the best amps around already. i'd keep it and get 2 good 1000 watt rms 12's. did you not like the BTL?
BTL is great, i like something with more sound quality. my other option would be more spl, i thought about 2 btls, but my electrical system will not handle that...barely handles the t20001bd right now. but im upgrading my alternator before i get the new system.

i'll probably keep the fosgate, would like to go with 2 12s now.

Well, based on what you want will determine what members here recommend you. If your going with spl, there's a lot of choices in the 1000 watt a piece range. People mentioned DC lvl 4's (though they will take more power). There's also the AQ HDC3's (though they like 2k or so as well). If you aren't looking for electrical upgrades past what you have, look into AQ's SDC line. Take about 900 watts rms or so. Never heard them personally, only the HDC3's but I hear they get very loud. You could also go with DD. They're 2500 or even 3500 series (specifically the 2512/3512 in your case) that are excellent drivers. Really, spl-wise there is a ton of possibilities. Lot of woofers out there that take a lot of power if its well engineered.

Hell, if you wanted straight spl with practically no sq, kicker will do you wonders haha

sq is a different path and my experience with decent sq woofers is minimal. I'll leave the recommending up to to others

I've owned the Kicker L10 and L12s in the past. I have never heard the AQ, DC, and DD subs. If they are louder than the Kicker brands than I'll have my eyes on them. I was going to go with the Solo X's but they are 2500rms and two would be too much. My SQ choice would probably be two Type X 12s

my problem with kicker isn't how loud they get, because they do get loud. the box sizes for kicker squares is too large for my taste. 3 cubes for the 12 and 6 cubes for the 15. if you can get them in that large of a box, they get as loud as any other sub in their power range.

I have a limited space of about 3.5-4 cubic ft. My biggest is 33in in length and 16in in height. i can make the depth as big as i need it to, but I need some trunk space.

I was thinking of going to sound quality because of this, and just have two type x 12s in a sealed box.

2 type X's in 3.75 cubes at 30-32hz would be good too.

hmmm i wonder how that'll sound over my current setup. my fi btl is in a 3.5 cubic ft enclosure. i think the person who built my box tuned it to 45hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

it'll sound a whole crap ton better. might not get as loud but the extra cone area will help.
