CD player problem

I've got a 1990 Buick LeSabre, I installed a CD player in the car perfectly except...when i switch the car on the cd player does not come on with the car but it goes off when you switch the car off. What did I do wrong, I know the problem has to be somewhere between the yellow(12Volt constant), and the red(Battery). What do I need to do to make the radio come on with the car?

you have ur acc(red) and constant(yellow) 12v backwords

so you are tellin me that i need to hook up the red to yellow and yelow to red. cuz all the colors match like they are supposed to now.

wow never had to do it like that before is it just older buicks like that or here and there cars?
