CCA for second battery

I never said all situations require a battery isolator. Do you think I'm basing this off of opinion? Running dissimilar batteries in parallel is not the correct way to do it if you want to keep your batteries healthy.

Just because someone does something all the time, doesn't mean it's right.

If you float charge them while tyhe vehicle is parked, it doesn't matter. People with battery banks float charge.

If you're not floating your batteries, you're not keeping them as healthy as possible.

Okay then you're talking about adding an external float charger. Even with that, you will still have more current being pulled from one battery when you're using your vehicle which would in turn drain the second battery that's in parallel. The articles I posted are a great resource and explain what I'm trying to say better than I'm able to.

U should be able to run a ph2500 on stock alt and stock battery. That's a tiny amp. Also fvck a battery isolator. Get a decent agm batt up front and do big 3 and set gains clean and your voltage should be fine. If not check to make sure u have a good ground.

the ph 2500 is only a 1200 watt amp. What size alternator do you have stock?

Check your grounds as stated, making sure they are grounded to bare metal, finish your big 3, and keep your ground as short as possible.

That's a shit ton of voltage drop for that small amp

I would have your alternator tested you should not have that kind of a voltage drop on that size wire at most under 100A load would be 2% which would put u still in the low 13V range. Might want to reground your amp to a better location.

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
