Help With Crimping Questions

I'm gona be doing the big 3 kit this weekend and wanting to know if you guys have used both the hand crimp tool that you squeeze as well as the one you use a hammer to crimp and if either way would be effective? I know some people would say just solder but I will be fine crimping just don't know if the ones I've seen for 0 gauge wire that you squeeze would suffice

I've used a hammer and pliers but it's a huge PITA. I sure would love to have a hydraulic crimper..maybe I'll get one for my new build later on.
I've seen those hammer indent ones as well like this

Amazon.com: NOCO D800 Blue Hammer Indent Crimping Tool: Automotive
Thanks guys.

these are the ring terminals i used. I hope it shouldn't be that bad sliding the rubber sleeve back then back over as it's crimped. Not hard to do I guess I mean as good as heat shrink tubing. I've seen some guys use heat shrink in some videos

put it in the largest crimper you have and hammer the handle lol or use a vice. I always solder them too if they're in the engine bay or somewhere that I want to be sure the wire is able to be moved often without the connection weakening.

I usually get ring term covers that are a little larger than they need to be so they go on easy, then i wrap the wire with electrical tape until its thick enough so when i slide the cover on it's tight

I have the 16 ton hydraulic crimper and I like it, I also solder to, I like both ways but soldering with a torch for the heavy gauge wire can be a pain if you haven't done it before, you could melt your jacket on the wire, or you could burn something else, just make sure sure you practice on some scrap first, might take you a few times till you figure out where to angle your flame and also hot to get it so the solder flows all the way inside your connector.

yeah thought about soldering but never have done it but saw someone a few times. I think I will just crimp though

soldering is not hard, i did it with a cheap 60w soldering iron from walmart lol. you might as well learn, you'll be surprised how often you need to solder things. it's way better than having to recrimp the wire because it didnt bite properly.

either way works just fine, if you don't solder right there is a possibility it will not bond well and slip out of the connector or break away, and if you don't crimp tight enough it can do the same, just make sure you get a heavy enough crimper.

what is the largest size wire you have soldered with it ? if it's any larger then 8ga. I have found it to be very difficult or impossible to do.
