Ever since I replaced my battery my car has been a little funny. Sometimes it won't turnover so I'd pop the hood take off the negative battery terminal put it back on and be good to go. Today it did that same thing electric turns on but the car wont turn over at all. Also a weird noise comes from or around the fuse box when I try to start my car sometimes. And where my mileage is it just shows blank lines no numbers.

Any suggestions? This really sucks *** I have work in the morning gah!!!

cant really tell...i know sometimes when I put my key in and turn it over the car will just click but wont turn over like the battery is dead but i know its not...sometimes it will turn over and stop halfway through and continue to turn over till it starts a second later...somebody told me to check that the solinoid on the starter is good but it hasnt happened at all recently...

That clicking is the sound of the solenoid. It is not receiving enough amperage to switch and send power to the starter. So it may be that the battery is not receiving power from the alternator, or enough of it. Make sure alternator and battery cable post wires are secure. Also ensure post and post clamp are clean. Ensure ground post is clean, clamp on ground is secure and body ground is tight. Your best bet is to take it to advanced auto or what ever your local chain store is. They can hook a meter to it and diagnose the problem for free. Most likely if all wires are secure and posts are clean you have a bad alternator. Buy a bigger amperage than stock if you have to replace.

Audio systems tend to kill alternators quicker than they would usually go out. The more amperage you can start with, the less of a parasitic effect on the alternator. Whether you are having it done, or do it yourself, you need to look into replacing the big three. Engine to frame ground. Battery to body ground. And Alternator to positive battery post. All should be replaced with larger wires. I use 1/0 but to each his own. If you cannot make them they can be bought at the parts store in various lengths with the proper fittings already installed. You want Two flat terminals for the engine to body. And a battery post and flat terminal on the other two.
