Car won't crank

I installed 2 jl10w0's and an 300w mtx amp, and all wiring in my friends 99 dondge intrepid es. I used an inline converter to convert the speaker signal to RCA. grounded the amp to the radio's antenna bracket in the trunk, and wired into the switched wire on his factory deck for the remote. Everything worked fine for a few days, now the car wont crank, It acts like the battery is dead b/c it clicks. When you jump it off, it will run for a few seconds, then die. Any ideas?

What's the voltage on the battery?

I'm willing to bet the amp stayed on when the car was off, correct?

if it clicks that means u need to let it charge some more, let it charge for more than 2mins.

His Rem was unhooked from the deck, and the declk was bypassed completely. we are trying to fix that now.

no DMM to check voltage. Maybe it stayed on, but after you jump it, it shouldnt just die b/c it will run w/o a battery.

clicking isnt the problem, the fact it dies, and doesnt have enough time to charge is the problem.

swap out the batterys.

if it's not holding a charge then ur batt or alt is bad.

so swap the batterys and see if thats the problem.

Get a new battery, and wire the remote to the switched 12VDC on the fusebox.

I'm thinking it sounds like the alt. We are unhooking everything, and putting it back to stock, to see if that works.

Will it run indefinitely when still connected to jumper cables?

Unhooked from the cables, it runs untill rpm's reach around 2000, then everything cuts out, and it dies.

Can you disassemble the regulator?

Might just need a new regulator and save having to replace the entire alt. If it's buried in it though, you're SOL.

It's all back to stock, but no one is there to jump him off, so it stitting on the batt charger right now.
