Car tweeters vs. home tweeters

I beg to differ. Under normal listening levels it may not be audible, but when the amp is pushed hard it can be audible.

Sure. Push the amp into hard clipping and it's going to be audible in either scenario.

Except for the fact that if he puts an 8ohm tweeter on a passive designed for 4ohm, he'll double the crossover frequency.
He needs to use the same impedance driver the passive was designed to be used with. If the CDT tweeter was 4ohm, he needs to stick w/ 4ohm.

either case, he can get an 8 ohm resistor and run it parallel with the tweeter, no?

I'll just use a 4ohm one for simplicity...I really think almost any home tweeter will sound better than the CDT one (shit if I had the money I'd use the tweeter from my Polk LSi7's and buy some more for the home)

No it wasn't
Don't have any experience with either tweeter, but its a good way to test the car environment with a proven tweeter that you like in home...
