Car Siren Installation

So does anyone know if it's possible to have the chirp siren separate than all the other sirens?

I did read a post somewhere on another forum about it.

IIRC, it is something to do with time delay & relays.

Ok so the general idea is have one siren directly hooked up the alarm with a continuous wire going to a relay. The relay should have a small delay before activating so this way a chirp that's short enough will not turn on the relay.

Right?

You remote control also allows you to arm and disarm the alarm with or with out chirps.

Typically it is pressing two buttons simultaneously.

Check your owners manual in the programming guide.

You are taking a lot of precautions which is fine but definately use a relay to drive the additional sirens, run two power and two ground wires from the alarm.

One set (+ -) to the battery direct and one to the DEI recommended location at the ignition switch and underdash chasis ground.

All of the sirens in the world won't help if the thief reaches up from under your car and cuts the factory power or ground cable and then steals your stereo.

Of course there are a million other things you can do such as a battery back up siren but this will help some.

Good point! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Also, just wanted to clarify there is a difference between a back up battery itself & a back up battery siren.

The back up battery itself (DEI 520T) will keep the entire alarm powered in the event of power loss & also has a tamper module if the siren is cut to trigger, which is better if you have multiple sirens so they go off! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The back up battery siren is made with a tamper proof design & is only shut off by a special key or when the internal self contained battery goes dead.
