*Car salesmem* When do cars sell most?

Like the topic says. When is the best time a year when cars sales spike??

Im guessing spring.

The reason im asking is because I posted my truck for sale on cars.com and Ive only gotten a few calls. The price is right and beautiful truck. I also think that it has something to do with its a big gas drinking SUV.

When ppl get their tax money. Me and my dad used to buy cars cheap, fix em, and then wait till that time of year came around. Losa cash in ppls pockets and they have no problem pickin up a nice vehicle with it. I Ga-RON-tee it.

Christmas season is busy in big dealerships, but not anywhere else. From tax return season through summer is the busiest time. You may want to verify your price is correct for what you're offering as well, and take into mind the market you're in as well.

i was told by a car salesman that buying a car at the end of the month is better than at the first of the month. he said to always do it on the last day of the month. not sure why.

i'm not sure how the car sales game works, but i'm not sure how much control salesmen have over prices. they have no control over financing.

Sales/prices usually go up around February and down around the middle of November.

Salesmen usually do have some control over the prices, however they usually have to get it approved through the manager. Most places have an inventory sheet that the salesmen get and they're told what the minimum price they'll accept for the car is. And most times, if a car has been setting for 45-60 days, the dealer will accept less just to move the car.

My parents are dealers, so I know a little bit about it.

It could be true..most dealerships close out the month around either the end or the first few days of the next month so I could see how they'd try harder to get one more deal in.

My grandparents keep the lot open, but they aren't doing too good health wise so it's hardly ever open. My dad used to stay over there all throughout the week, but him and my grandpa had a falling out a few years ago so my dad just mainly wholesales to new car dealers now. I doubt we'd have anything you'd be interested in...

I'm going to start keeping it open for them within the next few weeks. We should be getting some new cars and the cars that are over there ready within then. Let me know what you're looking for and I'll let you know if we get anything.
