car painted cheap where?

Lets say your car is silver, but has some scratches and stuff and needs to be painted. Does it need to be sanded and all if you are just repaining it silver?

I guess it would depend on how deep the scratches are and how nice of a paint job you want.

Sure the scratch would be the same color as the new paint job but if it's deep enough you still might be able to see it after paint. Sanding is to make everything flat as possible with no imperfections for the paint. That's why nice paint jobs come out like glass.

They are just urface scratches. I tend to get a lot of people who key my car or door ding me in the parking lot. They really only are on the surface though. But does anyone know of a nice body filler that is relatively cheap??

do like this one guy that works with me did. he went to wal-mart and got a bunch of black glossy spray paint in automotive. it looks real good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
