car audio tube pre amp?

just wondering if it would be a good investmnt to buy this? the bass controll would be nice, the tubes look sweet, but would this improve sound or just be another device in the path of distortion?

anyone know what tubes it uses?

I dont know anyone who uses one, but heres the link to Soundstream's .pdf documentation about it.

I'm a big tube fan, but I have not heard any good reviews on this thing. I know Tru has a tube pre-amp being release soon, I know it will be expensive.

Just think there are better options out there than this.

I don't see the point of an external preamp when the head unit is acting like a preamp anyway...

Well, I do like my symmetry (Rockford fosgate) epx2. It acts as a pre-amp and made a HUGE improvement in my soundstage and gave me so much more control over my amplifiers.
