I recently bought 2 Audiobahn Alum12X's, and am wondering what type of amp I need to push them. the RMS is 1000 each, but i have no idea how ohms and stuff like that work into the picture, can someone let me know what a strong but safe way to go would be? thanks

here are the stats on one sub:

120 oz. Double Stacked Strontium Magnets

Power Handling: 1000 watts R.M.S.

Frequency Response: 18Hz – 500Hz

Efficiency: 96.4dB

3 Inch 4-Layer ASV Voice Coil

Dual 6 Ohm

3 Ohm or 12 Ohm Operation

thanks again

If you wire em both in parallel then you will have a 1.33 ohm load so you are looking at a one ohm stable monoblock or a high current amp.. The big Audiobahn amp will do..Or for around the same money look into Earthquakes PHD2 (shredder) Autotek also has some monsters that could do it..Just for a few to look at.
