ok so i was looking around at some subwoofer specifications (Fi BL12 dual 1ohm just for reference) and i realized that i have no i dea what this stuff means:

Qms: 4.68

Qts: .24

Qes: .25

Mms: 212g

Cms: 0.96mm/N

Bl: 16.6 N/A

Sd: 480cm^2

Vas: 31.2

Its not like the worlds gonna end if i dont know this stuff, but i might as well learn since i got this forum, so if anyone could shed some light that'd be great.

They are called Thiele Small Parameters (T/S specs, TSP's, etc).

and uh this is kinda off topic, but when i look at enclosure customization options i see single layer 3/4" and double layer 1.5" front baffles. wondering what that extra thick front baffle is good for and if i should get it when ordering a box

double baffle would be if you have either a very large front baffle or are running high powered woofers. Adds extra support.

Can anyone tell me why BL is different on Fi's subs per coil resistance. Dual 1s have way less BL than dual 2s.

and what does a "peaky" enclosure mean?
