does anyone know of any good schools where i can learn how to become a MECP certified installer close to North Carolina and perferably has some type of lodging accomedations. I really want to get serious about it since i seem to have a natural talent for it (I'm 17 and haven't came across any system i couldn't hook up including a full feature alarm with remote start and i just have the natural ability to understand technology) so i figured i'll choose mobile electronics as my career path since i love doing it and a master installer at a good custom shop should be able to earn a pretty comfortable living (probally won't be able to get the that Skyline GT-R i always wanted but could probally get the next best thing bieng a 350Z/G35 Coupe) but back to the important stuff for now. can you give some urls and/or other info about some schools.

thanks

ritop is one of the best right now, i was on there campus before i moved... AMAZING!

installer institute is great too, especially cause you learn on your own car, meaning when your done, you got a killer system...

INstaller Institute is nice, I went to it. I was lucky, had a relative that worked for Metra (parent company) and when they started the Installer Institute, I got to go for free. Its a nice program, and not too far away from the Carolina's. But yes, its not cheap.

Not right now! After HS, I decided to take the yaer off, that year flew by and I said, "You know, I think I'll take the year off!" I will go to college though! I plan on it. Don't know when though?

they all say that, haha jk man. i have a few friends that had to take a year off for personal reasons and will turn out really successful. just make sure you don't sit around for too long because it will just get harder and harder for you to get back in school.
