car audio reputations...

what are the general reputations for the leading subwoofer brands??like audiobahns are pure spl, no sq...legacy sucks all around...what are some other ones like kicker, RF, alpine, kenwood, jl audio, jbl, pioneer, sony...etc...i know this is a lengthy post, but any help would be appreciated..

General rule of thumb if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. IE - if the sub says it handles 2000 watts and it only costs 40 dollars. Theres your sign.

if your looking for some good all around subs (spl, tight and long bass, sq) i must point you toward jl's. I have two 10w6v2's in my 350 (which i plan to post as soon as i get a dig cam) and i hit 147db, and they sound good in all ranges. I listen to mostly rock and alt where tight bass is a must. These things are not to be messed with. They need alot of juice though. I'm giving them 400 rms each with a jl 1000. Hope this might help.
