you realize cats are very smart animals right?

dogs are under them when it comes to the simple fact of having the ability to be trained which means their minds are weak on their own.

Do not get me wrong, dogs are awesome pets but its been stated 1000000000 times over about intelligence levels in the two, and the irony of it all. They both get beaten by a dolphin in intelligence levels......how the fvck does that happen lulz

yep. but they are far more competent than any dog or cat combined to do on their own. help yourself with some research along with others that come into this thread. i do not judge any animal or take sides. just wanted to spread some knowledge

Never said anything other wiseM based on your previous post you said that dogs are less intelligent than cats simply based on the fact that they can be trained. Then you contradicted yourself by saying dolphins are more intelligent than both because dolphins can be trained as well.

Not arguing which animal has more intellect than the other because I honestly don't know but cats can't be smarter than dogs based on that

its not only based on that. and im very glad you brought up me saying that.

dogs are not competent all that well to think for them selves 100% of the time. that's also why you see alot of good dogs turn into man eating pit bulls for no reason and why the owner makes the dog . cats will not change when they're trained because they learn. not just take the ''training'' part of things.

You realize that after numerous studies dogs, have be named the best pet for most to have? The reason is actually very simple. Dog's want to keep their owner/master happy and for the most part that is their main function. Cats are more self centered then that and all though make great pets they like to have themselves come first.

With a little research you can find that info rather quickly. You will also find that the intelligence difference from Car to Dog in some cases is minimal. All though cats are suspected to be smarter, the reason they have a hard time proving that is again based on a dog's since of keeping their owner happy.

I like cats when they're young, or even some older ones if they stay small in size. Large, old cats honestly scare me lol.

I have mainly had dogs most of my life, but I have had a few cats.
You may call me 'backwoods' or 'redneck', but every pet I have had was an outdoors animal. We used to have up to 20 bengals for hunting...running deer and rabbits. But, over time my family got out of that trend. (I loved rabbit hunting w/ dogs though).

The best dog I ever had lived to be 14yrs old. Mix 50/50 Lab and Golden retriever ~90lbs, no papers, but he looked like a huge block-headed yellow lab. Alot of people around saw him and his demeanor and wanted us to stud him out. But without papers, that was a bust. Every time I went hunting around the house, he was right there by my side, nose to the ground. That ole mutt was the smartest stupid dog you would ever find (played like a puppy until the day he died). He was also a great source of laughs, horny as hell, hump anything that walked...even my uncle w/ a bad back that bent down to tie his shoe....LMAO.

He would follow a 4-wheeler for miles just because he knew it was time to hunt.

Even in his old age he would run a rabbit/deer/anything for hours and love it. Sadly, 3 of my neighbor's hog-dogs (catahoula curs) got out of their pen one day and eat him up. He was too old to defend himself and we had to put him down. I miss my old hunting buddy.

I worked for a local zoo during my late teen years. My main duties where feeding the large and exotic cats and cleaning up what comes out of them. When I was there I got into an organization called BCR. Which rescues large cats from deplorable conditions and what not. I am no longer with that group due to a fundamental disagreement with the leader's ethos. That, and I'm sure she killed her husband and fed him to the cats. Her daughter is still perusing legal action, a year after he went missing.

I'm a cat person, love large dogs though. Hate small dogs.

Cats: Jenny, Mcgonagall, Rosie, Titan, Foo-Foo, Sybil, Dini, Fi-Fi, Pisser, Db, Valdez, Puff (Daddy)

Those are all the cats that I've named, I've had countless outdoor cats. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, Sybil had a fuckload of kittens.

Dogs: Opus, Max, Max, Max, Scout, Abby.

The three Maxes are from three different people. I all three of them in 08', one ran away, the other one died of old age, and the third one died of "depression."

He tried to jump out the door every chance he got even though he could roam in my backyard and inside whenever.

We have 3 cats. My wife's a huge cat lover. I like them too. 1 of them loves to play fight with me(got scars on my hands from her). I'm a dog lover too. I miss my Akita. He was a bad@ss dog.
