Car audio out to sea?

When I said fiberglass them off, I mean the bandpass , since the speaker will have to be inside while im doing that...afaik //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Where can I get this gortex material though? I dont know how well they will play up on the ceiling, but im just saying that based on the fact that I havent tried it yet :p So far under the seat seemed to sound the nicest though, but ill give the ceiling option a try, just to hear it.

Question; is this setup geared towards any particular music type? Just making sure I get everything clear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

go with a all plexiglass enclosure. water will not damage it unless it gets to the speaker itself. it will also sound the best and look the best in the boat. my shop also makes speaker pods for boats.

that looks complicated to make ^^^ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

not for us. it takes my boss about a couple hours to make a all plexi enclosure. then we allready have the 6x9 enclosures for the top allready made. we have one set up in our shop.

looks expensive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

RE8's will play whatever you want them to. they will bump with rap, or play up on the high midbass notes. it all depends on your crossover points and how you like what kind of music you choose.

i love midbass. 8"s are perfect for midbass, many (2 or 4) are great for subbass.

well the 8z are now out of the picture, the deal I was working on fell through //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I think im just gonna try going with a infinity ref12 in a bandpass, and call it a day. I tried a pioneer dvc 10in in a prefab bandpass, and it sounded pretty good under the seat, so i'm probably gonna have to put the new one under the seat, since thats where it sounds best (putting it in the cabin sucked).

The system is sounding pretty decent so far, and I havent added the extra 2 kenwood marine's yet. Although I was havign a lil problem with my mids cutting off periodically (mids ran on the RF amp). I used marine grade 8g wire for the setup, but I would think that this would suffice, and ontop of that, the bass doesnt cut off. Dont think its the battery, since the boat has 2 HUGE batteries in them :p

Anyway im gonna try some tests to see if I can get to the bottom of this...

not fair, you guys are pretty popular because of them plexi boxes you make. and i must say that they look nice.

the amp hadnt sat there for more than 2 hours, and the boat hadnt gone out yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But where the amps are mounted is pretty air tight. But 8g wire should suffice right?
