a given sub has an optimum box size that is usually given in teh specs or on the manufactured web site. A smaller box increases the Q of the system and causes a peek in the resonance. It may sound boomier at that frequency. A smaller box also provides more air spring and controlls the woofer more at other freqeuncies, thus sounding tighter and reducing the cone excursion and increasing power handling.

ok, so i measured my trunk, dimensions are

33" wide

I want to keep it around 14" tall to keep it under my package shelf

and depth i can go up to 22" at 14" tall and 27" on the bottom, with ports coming out top; with rear ports can go 20 up top and 25 at the bottom.. more than enough room for a 4 foot box. obviously i have to do a top mount...

I would say it was not the subs, it was the box... and install.. I've ran infinity in my day and you would be suprised what they can do in the right box.. and that really goes for any sub for that matter with in reason.

I was going to make a new box, I had a prefab that was WAY too small for 2 12's....But everything got stolen
